"Steady" start in World Cup |
Ross and Ian Poulter are 9 under par, tied 7th, as the English team go into the weekend of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China.

They are nine shots behind the impressive Irish duo of Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy, but only two strokes behind 4th place.
"We have got off to a steady start," said Fisher. "But steady is all it has been so far. Poults and I haven’t really stepped into top-gear yet. We are playing nicely, just leaving a few shots out there."
The England team are certainly the best dressed pairing on the course, with matching trousers and shoes! Poulter has supplied the trousers this week, while they match up colours with their regular shirts.

The pair have opened with rounds of 66 in the fourballs, and 69 in the foursomes, scores that both men know should have been better.

Ross continued:
"As you can see, some of the scoring has been excellent so far this week. We just need to have our day on the greens. We should have been two or three shots better each day. Both hitting the ball nicely, just not holing those crucial putts.
"I know its a cliché, but there is still a lot of golf to be played, and like last year, we are hoping to make a really strong challenge over the weekend. We are doing a later better than we were at the same stage last year, and we jumped right up the leaderboard then! So No reason why we can't give the Irish boys a bit of a scare."
Saturdays round will return to the fourball better-ball format, and then back to foursomes for the final round on Sunday.
